Your responsibilities
What New Zealand firms need to do
- Review all work before it goes to your client or Inland Revenue. Your firm is responsible for it.
- Make sure your authority to act from each client allows their Inland Revenue information to be shared with a service provider like us. See Inland Revenue's operational statement OS 25/03.
- Tell your clients in writing, for example in your engagement letter, that you use an AI service provider and that information may be processed overseas.
- Follow the Privacy Act 2020 and the rules of any professional body your firm or its members belong to, such as Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) or CPA Australia.
